Description

What is the webinar about?

This book promotion webinar is relevant for both those who use and those who work in mental health services, social care and allied services and academic settings. It is particularly relevant for the issues the world is currently facing, and the book is set within the context of covid-19, Black Lives Matter, social inequalities and climate change. The book incorporates the perspectives and experience of over 40 leading academics and practitioners in the field, and points towards new landscapes and horizons. It has broad relevance for all service sectors across the lifespan. The handbook offers practical ideas of how to deliver a more holistic approach to mental health services and also offers an opportunity to reflect on our own personal journey.

What will it cover?

The book promotion webinar will begin with an overview, taking participants through each of the 4 sections of the book. These are:

Section One: Where are we now? (Chapters 1-4)

Section Two: Mental Health, Spirituality & Well-being: (Chapters 8-14)

A) Across the Life Cycle
B) Therapeutic Practice
C) Themes & Journeys

SectionThree: Spirituality, Services Leadership & Training (Chapters 18-23)

Section Four: New Landscapes (Chapters 24-29)

This introduction will then lead into a discussion of the main themes which have emerged from the book. This conversation will then be opened to the audience to ask questions and add to the discussion. The book promotion webinar will close with an opportunity for personal reflection on what has been heard.

What will I achieve?

By the end of this book promotion webinar, you should have a clearer idea of what the handbook covers, and an experiential taste of what is contained within it.

Do I need any particular skills to attend?

This book promotion webinar will be aimed at health and social care professionals, those who access services and their loved ones who care for them as well as academics and researchers in this field. As this is a book promotion webinar, it requires no particular skills or qualifications but merely an interest in these topics and a curiosity about the intersection between mental health, spirituality and wellbeing.
