A strengths-based approach integrating body, mind and spirit within the wider context
- Strengths-based – exploring a person’s purpose and potential as well as their problems. Helping people to reconnect with their goals, values, sense of purpose and meaning in their life. Developing a person not just solving a problem.
- Integrating body, mind and spirit – Whole-person approach which explores spirituality and more focus on physicality of a person. Recognising a client’s spirituality as a resource for recovery and recognising an interconnectivity beyond the self.
- Contextual– seeing a person in their context of environmental, cultural, spiritual and social influences so that psychological difficulties are not seen as only due to internal factors such as unhelpful thoughts.
Of benefit to: Mental health professionals, psychotherapists and CBT practitioners in the full range of mental health services. Those with knowledge of CBT and groupwork in non-clinical settings including faith leaders, chaplains and those working in homelessness, drug and alcohol, recovery colleges and other services.
